The National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic (NSC KR) congratulates all the staff of the United Nations system with the United Nations Day.

The United Nations Charter was signed on June 26th, 1945 and entered into force on October 24th. Since then, October 24th is celebrated as the United Nations Day. Initially, the United Nations comprised of 51 member states and at present the number of UN member states has increased significantly.

The Kyrgyz Republic had become a member state on March 2, 1992 at the 46th session of the UN General Assembly.

The NSC KR actively cooperates with international organizations and National Statistical Institutes in the field of statistics. It also cooperates closely with various UN agencies on a regular basis.

At the multilateral level, the NSC KR has been actively involved in many international events organized by the United Nations system, in particular UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UN FAO, WFP, UNIDO, UNESCO, UNODC, UNESCAP, UNECE, etc.

The UN agencies provide support to NSC KR in developing the national statistical system, exchanging of knowledge and experience, improving the system of statistical indicators, upgrading ICT tools, modernizing the organizational structure of the statistical system, implementing international standards and practices in the field of statistics, improving the efficiency of data collection and strengthening statistical capacity.

The NSC KR appreciates this mutual cooperation with UN agecnies and wishes prosperity and success in addressing global challenges of the world community.
