The online seminar the impact of Covid-19 on the situation of children and women in Kyrgyzstan

March 3, 2021 the National Statistical Committee held the online seminar based on the results of the cluster survey on the impact of Covid-19 on the situation of children and women in Kyrgyzstan. The online seminar was attended by Elmira Alymkulova, Chief of Staff of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, Christine Jaulmes, UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of a number of government agencies.

The National Statistical Committee shared the results of a survey on the impact of Covid-19 on the situation of children and women in Kyrgyzstan, conducted in November-December 2020 with the financial and technical support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). In general, the results of the survey indicate that overall 76% of households were affected by Covid-19.

The experts of the National Statistical Committee based on the survey results prepared reports on the antenatal and postnatal care for mothers and children, on the early childhood development and education, as well as precautions to reduce the risk of infection with Covid-19.
